R2R Pledge Team Updates

Update 8/26/2008: Robin Bostick stepped up and made a huge pledge. Robin is the GM of San Antonio Masonry in San Antonio, and has been riding and rebuilding his and his son's Marty's bikes for years.Their bikes tend to have problem of falling off the stand and getting broken. That's what I was told?

Robin's son Marty is the one who brought James Marshall to have the picture taken for our poster. Marty and Robin have stepped and made a difference in James life, and now they make a huge pledge. People don't come along often like them. Thanks for your support Robin, and for Marty being their for James when he needs a friend. Robin, when is the next "Hot Tub" party with James? Maybe an idea for a future event.......

I talked with Heath Voss and he is getting some stuff together to give us for the raffle. Heath can not make it to the event due to a prior comment in Canada, but wanted to do any he could to help us support R2R. If you have ever had the opportunity to met him you know he is one of the nicest persons, and would give his shirt of his back if helped. I guess he actually. They will also be autographed by him. As soon as I get them I will update everyone.

Larry Morton with 5 Magic Motocross Schools emailed me today and donated 3 two-day school certificates. We will be offering them for a pledge amount of $200 or more. Each certificate is valued at $250.

The 5 Magics MX School is the school for riders of all levels. They have had students as young as 4 years old, several in their late 50’s, and every ability from new riders to national pro level racers, trail riders, off road riders and of course motocross racers of every level and bike size.

These school follows a proven format, starting with basic fundamentals, and working through all the techniques for each discipline i.e.. starts, cornering, braking, whoops, jumping, line selection, passing drills and mental preparation as well. Each technique is discussed thoroughly then reinforced through repetition using stationary drills and action drills.

These certificates can be used at any of his scheduled classes within the next 12 months.

For more information on his classes visit www.5mmxs.com

Update 8/23/2008: Shane Carter & Tom Poplawsky with Alamo Cycle Plex donated 1 full set "09" Fox 360 riding gear valued at over $250, and 10 - $20 gift certificates. They will also be providing some more items to be raffled off at the event.

Shayne with Cycle Gear in San Antonio donated a set of Dunlop 756's, and an O'Neal Elements helmet.

Clint Breslin raced with James Marshall and now has a graphic design business. He is creating a "Limited Production Poster" dedicated to James. These will be for sell at the event with all proceeds going to James. James will also be autographing each poster at the event. As soon as he has it finished I post a it here for you to view. He can be contacted by visiting his website at www.clintbreslin.com
.

Update 8/11/2008: Spy Optics is going to be sending some contingency's to be given away. This is due to Brandon Beabouts efforts. As soon as we know what we will be getting I will provide an update.

Update 7/18/2008:
Gina Pitts with Cycle Ranch MX Park and Shawn Kriese with Cross Creek Cycle Park both donated 5 free practice day passes to each of their tracks. These will be given away on a first come basis for a pledge of $50 or more. If you pledge $50 or more I will contact you via email to get which track pass you want.

Update 7/10/2008: Lisa Bliss, General Manager of Joe Harrison Motorsports, and daughter of Joe Harrison stepped up and made a huge pledge. I go back a long way with this dealership, but never expecting this. Thanks Lisa for helping us make a difference.

Update 7/9/2008: Brandon Beabout was talking with Brent Stallo with Verbmoto about the event, and he in turn mentioned the event in their daily news article's update. Brent thanks for the free publicity. If you have not herd of Verbmoto before you just did not realize who they are. They do the video work for most all the amateur nation events and are seen on places like RacerX. They have a kick but website. Check'em out at www.verbmoto.com

Update 6/30/2008:
I talked with John Willis with Holeshot Magazine this past Friday and they are going to be running a 1/3 page press release about the Ride Day and my pledge team. They are also going to give us a full one page add promoting my team and the event. This is the first magazine to step and help but I am sure there will be more. You can pick up a copy within the next 30 days at most motorcycle dealer. This event keeps picking up momentum. It is going Rock! Don't miss your opportunity to be part of it.

I talked with James Marshall today and he is about ready to launch his new website www.outlaw452.com . He has the "Check Back Soon" page up and it has really cool picture of him (see below). From what he told me of his plans it should be a cool site and a way to help him out. Check it out soon. He also told me about a Triathlon he is in training for that will be held in California some time in October. One of his team members is non other than Travis Pastrana. How cool is that!  James will be at the Ride Day so you all can give some advice on how to not let Travis talk him into something that would end up one of his DVD's.  I am sure it will be fun no matter how you finish with Travis on your team. Good luck James.

I also talked with Steve Present at TexasSkiRanch.com and he is going to post info on the event to help us get more support. He commited to support us with a pledge. Thanks Steve.

Update 5/29/2008: Shand Garcia of Holeshot Magazine invited Steve Wise to be a guest on their inter net radio talk show www.58mxlive.com .The interview is on their site for anyone to listen to. He discusses the upcoming National at Freestone MX Park, Texas Motocross History and the activities of his ministry. This is great interview and retrospective on Texas motocross.

If you’re planning to attend the Freestone National on June 8th, he invites you to join him at the Amateur Track Spectator Hill at 8:00 AM for a Sunday morning church service. They will have music, and he will bring a message from Scripture!

Update 5/14/2008: We got the picture taken of my pledge team last week. I am working now on getting it put into a poster with event information that can be posted in businesses and on the web. Things are starting to come together.

Front Row: Todd Hargroder, Brandon Beabout, James "The Outlaw" Marshall
Back Row: Me and Steve Wise

UPDATE 5/7/2008: I was approached by Jerime Olmstead this past weekend while riding at the new Texas Dirt Slingers track. He is starting up new web site called MotocrossUnlimted.net It will have a lot to offer. Things like a National MX track locater, events in the state of Texas, MX schools info and much more. He is offering one year of FREE advertising to the 2 top track owners or motorcycle dealers that pledges the most. Go the links page and visit his site. One more avenue for the MX rider to find the information they need.

UPDATE 4/16/08: Brandon Beabout just called me and he will be joining the team. He runs MTC (Motocross Training Camp) and wants to provide some classes for a soon to be determined pledge amount to help teach riders how to excel in MX and become, smarter and safer rider. He knows if you have better skills it will help prevent putting yourself in a situation that could lead to injures. You can learn more about him by visiting his site via the Links page.

UPDATE 4/14/08: I just got off the phone with James Marshall and he is going to join my pledge team as well. He will be meeting up with me in the next week or so to be included in the picture we will have on the event poster. He is a great person and I am very thankful he joined our team.

UPDATE 4/10/08: Steve Wise, former Factory Honda rider and now Minister has committed to be part of my pledge team. He is going to speak for 20 minutes at the start of the event to remind us all of the importance of God in our lives and the sport we all love. You can click on the link below to learn more about Steve and his mission in life now.

I am also in the process of finalizing some other commitments form top current and past MX stars to be at the event. I will be adding a page very soon with more information on how you can be part of my pledge team and enjoy a great day riding at Red Rock MX.

Thanks for stopping by,

Cody Lipps
