The 501-3(C) foundation was the idea of former AMA Pro rider #452 James Marshall. James was injured in the 6th round of 2006 AMA Supercross season. He suffered damage to his C-2, C-4 and C-5 vertebra and now lives in a wheelchair. Since his accident James has re-integrated within his community and now wants to lead an effort to help those who have suffered either Spinal cord or brain injuries. We are having the first board meeting Jan 11, 2009 and will be setting up our short term goals as well as the bank account to take donations. I will be working with James on the New JMP website and hope to have it launched within the next few weeks. This is going to be a great project and I know we will get support form not only the MX family but people from outside the sport.
James has been through so much and still has a can do attitude. He is someone we can look up to and learn from. I am looking forward to what comes next, and I will keep you updated on our future projects.
If you would like to get involved just let me know as we will need all the help we can get.
